Monarch March: Wings of Freedom – Walk with CRI @ Oaklyn’s July 4th Parade
Walk with CRI at the Oaklyn 4th of July Parade! This year’s theme is the MONARCH BUTTERFLY
โญWe will be carrying as many monarch butterflies as possible. We have some to share from previous events, or bring your own! This event is all about showing up, shining bright, and reminding folks that real power starts with us. The monarchs naturally transcend national boundaries. Their famous migration route connects Mexico, the United States, and Canada, serving as a reminder that migration is a natural, life-sustaining behavior. Dress up like a butterfly! Wear wings! Or dress in orange, black, and/or white! Be creative. This is a family-friendly, community event – let us celebrate and support.
๐ค Lineup begins at 9:30am โ Meet at the corner of Johnson & E. Beechwood in Oaklyn. ๐ถโโ๏ธ Parade kicks off promptly at 10:00am! ๐ Parade Route: Johnson & E. Bettlewood โ E. Holly โ across the White Horse Pike to W. Holly โ Newtown Ave โ W. Clinton Ave โ ending at Oaklyn Public School with ice cream, activities, and more! (corner of Kendall & W. Clinton). ๐ The parade wraps up around 10:45am and thereโll be refreshments waiting for all to enjoy afterward! ๐ CRI members will be marching with a giant monarch butterfly puppet – a beautiful collaboration between our Creative Team and Environmental Team. Come admire the art and be part of the crew bringing it down the route!
Note: This is a community event, not a protest! Let’s keep this positive and upbeat, please! Nothing polarizing today.
