Stitches for Solidarity is a group of CRI sewers/quilters/knitters who are interested in putting their needles to work for spreading caring and kindness in these troubled times. Since last August, our group has created 15 fabric quilts, 35 crocheted blankets, over 50 knitted and crocheted hats, scarves, and mittens, as well as hundreds of Embracelets that are used to raise funds to support the families of ICE detainees.
All skill levels are welcome! Even if you’ve never made a quilt or worked with yarn or embroidery floss before, we’ll need people to cut and iron fabric, roll yarn balls, and sort beads at the event (and you may end up learning how to use a needle or crochet hook along the way!).
Come join us and spread kindness with the warmth of a handmade item that embraces someone in need!
