SUMMARY:Spanish Language Meetup
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the new year with CRI’s second Spanish class of 2026! This class will focus on learning vocabulary that we can use in restaurants and local businesses\, so we can support businesses that are suffering in this current anti-immigrant climate. We will also continue to work on pronunciation\, new vocabulary\, phrases and basic conversations\, always with the goal of feeling more confident to communicate with and advocate for our Spanish-speaking neighbors. Not to mention\, this class is just plain fun — thanks to our teachers Edison and Alyse. We will meet in Room A in the Voorhees library. All are welcome!

SUMMARY:Litter Clean-up and Invasive Plants Removal @ Cooper River
DESCRIPTION:What: [Rescheduled] MLK Day of Service – Cooper River Park and Edison Woods Trash Pick-up and Invasive Plants Removal. A volunteer event for the entire family! Dress for the weather. You will be working around thorny plants\, so wear rugged clothing you won’t care too much if it gets stuck. Volunteers will be provided heavy-duty work gloves\, trash bags\, grabbers and rakes. \nPlease bring: 1) Hand pruners\, sturdy screwdrivers or crowbars for prying and small hand saws to cutback the invasive vines. Please put your name on them and bring them along. (These are all optional items. Just bring if you have). 2) Refillable water bottle to stay hydrated 3) Signed waivers. We will have some on-hand but appreciate if volunteers bring their own signed by the appropriate adult (will be provided once signed up). \nWhere: Haddon Township side of Cooper River Park\, Intersection of South Park Dr. and Saginaw Ave. (just east of Cuthbert Blvd). Plenty of parking on side streets. – I \nWhy: Both trash and invasive plants can harm local wildlife\, plant diversity and water quality of our waterways – plus\, it just looks bad. Invasive plants\, such as English ivy\, do not provide the food source and habitat the area’s wildlife depend on and reduces plant diversity by crowding-out native species. \nQuestions or for more information: Contact Fred\, Community Action Coordinator\, Delaware Riverkeeper Network – 856.816.8021
