You will be working around thorny plants\, so wear rugged clothing you won’t care too much if it gets stuck. Volunteers will be provided heavy-duty work gloves\, trash bags\, grabbers and rakes. \nPlease bring: 1) Hand pruners\, sturdy screwdrivers or crowbars for prying and small hand saws to cutback the invasive vines. Please put your name on them and bring them along. (These are all optional items. Just bring if you have). 2) Refillable water bottle to stay hydrated 3) Signed waivers. We will have some on-hand but appreciate if volunteers bring their own signed by the appropriate adult (will be provided once signed up). \nWhere: Haddon Township side of Cooper River Park\, Intersection of South Park Dr. and Saginaw Ave. (just east of Cuthbert Blvd). Plenty of parking on side streets. – I \nWhy: Both trash and invasive plants can harm local wildlife\, plant diversity and water quality of our waterways – plus\, it just looks bad. DESCRIPTION:Come out to show support for our immigrant community. We will meet at the Lindenwold Borough Hall\, 15 N White Horse Pike\, at 4:00pm. This is a peaceful demonstration of solidarity. We urge attendees to avoid engaging with any counter-protesters. Signs are encouraged\, and we encourage positive messages of support for our immigrant community. \nImportant Update: Due to slow-melting snow\, and in an abundance of caution\, we will simplify tomorrow’s action in Lindenwold\, and meet at Borough Hall at 4:00pm (15 N White Horse Pike). We had planned to meet on E Gibbsboro Road and march to Borough Hall\, but the route is much too dangerous with the snow. \nThere are some benefits to this change! There is plenty of parking at Borough Hall and nearby on E Linden Avenue. Since the borough offices are closed tomorrow\, we have been told by the local police that we can utilize the parking lot\, which does provide a safe alternative for anyone worried about standing on the sidewalk along White Horse Pike. There are two accessible parking spaces in the lot\, and we will also try to reserve some additional spaces. **Please do not park in the lot if you are able to walk the short distance from Linden Ave. \nPlease take a few minutes to read the following protest guidelines. \nAs an organization\, Cooper River Indivisible always engages in peaceful protests. \nStay safe. Be respectful and kind to all. Stay on sidewalks\, use crosswalks\, and do not enter roadways. The local police support this event. If they are present\, it is for our safety. Do not block access to buildings or driveways. Respect everyone’s property. Look out for your fellow protestors. We are all safer when we take care of each other. Do not engage with counter protestors. Ignore them\, or walk away. Seek the assistance of a trained marshal if someone is harassing you. Respect organizers’ requests\, and check in with them if you have questions or concerns.
